Brand Industrial Services, Inc. a BrandSafway Company is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineering Intern based in Waukesha, WI. This will be a 3-6month internship (depending on candidate availability).

JOB PURPOSE:
To assist in the development of products and engineered solutions for BrandSafway’s Product Development team.
To lead the analysis and testing of products and engineered solutions for BrandSafway’s Product Development team.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Plan, supervise, coordinate, assemble, perform and document testing of systems and components
Analyze stresses and deflections of components and systems using manual calculations, structural analysis software and FEA software
Utilize CAD, FEA and PDM tools effectively
Evaluate new and existing systems and components for load capacity, factors of safety, modes of failure and regulatory compliance
Specify and purchase test equipment
Assist in the modification or redesign of new and existing systems and components
Become a subject matter expert on BrandSafway access product lines
Purchase equipment and maintain accurate inventory records
Provide technical assistance to BrandSafway branches, including visiting branches and project sites
Travel up to 10% (contingent upon COVID travel restrictions)
Ability to safely work in a Shop and manufacturing environment is critical
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
0-3 years of experience
Self-starter and “Hands-on” Engineer with strong mechanical skills, leadership abilities and project management skills
Strong computer skills required
Blueprint reading, architectural drawing familiarity required
AutoCAD and SolidWorks, FEA experience a plus
Manufacturing and welding experience a plus
Experience with code compliance design; OSHA, UL, ASME, etc. a plus
Good verbal and written communication skills, MS Office proficiency, able to provide written reports and give professional presentations
Safety conscious working in Shop environment
