Position Summary

The PCB Designer role performs a critical function in the design and development of printed circuit boards for fuel cell product applications.  The PCB Designer will engage in cross-functional project assignments and work as part of the engineering team to meet a variety of project deliverables.  The ideal candidate for this role will have a depth of technical proficiency with PCB design for a variety of applications while also possessing the ability to function well in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Work with engineering team members to define product requirements and solutions
Lead PCB design efforts through a variety of projects utilizing CAD software and other relevant engineering tools
Innovate new and create solutions for customer needs; continually seek to enhance product performance with design efforts
Maintain design documentation as required in the course of work
Continually work to understand product performance requirements; test PCB design work to ensure that designs will support product performance and output requirements
Document output of the design function for relevant stakeholders; this may include calculations, specifications, reports, materials, etc
Assist as needed with troubleshooting and problem resolution efforts; help to identify the cause of problems and design solutions to prevent a recurrence
Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions
Perform all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in engineering or another relevant technical field
0 – 3+ years of related work experience
Familiarity with engineering tools and software including but not limited to CAD applications
Proven acumen to lead PCB design efforts for a technology manufacturing company preferred
Prior experience in the fuel cell industry a plus
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levels
