About the job
The Snap-on Power Tools Engineering team is seeking a Mechanical Engineering college student for a summer internship at our corporate headquarters in Kenosha, Wisconsin. This is a great opportunity to support innovative cordless power tools designs that meet the premium expectations of Snap-on customers.

 

Responsibilities-

Support designs for cordless power tools i.e. impacts, ratchets, and drills that meet the expectations of Snap-on customers.
Assist in projects from concept and possibly through startup production.
Use of mechanical engineering expertise to provide technical guidance and or develop test methods for power tools.
Help establish test plans and procedures to validate the proper function of mechanisims, tool life, and performance.
Participate in group project update meetings.

 

Qualifications-

Student currently pursuing a BSME
Junior or Senior level in college
Ability to read engineering drawings
Create engineering specifications
Solve problems and be a self-starter
Ability to work full-time in the summer

 

Competencies-

Interest in the design of mechanical systems
Basic knowledge of Creo solid modeling
Basic knowledge of plastic design and material compatibility
Knowledge of steels and heat treatment is beneficial
Ability to build tools and operate lab test equipment
Understanding of dynamic and static analysis of moving components
Dimensional tolerancing with strong math and analytical skills
