IMR offers engineering assistance and technical expertise to design, repair, and refurbish semiconductor equipment parts to provide a high-quality, cost-effective solution for our manufacturing sites.

The Mechanical Design Engineer for Intel Module Repair (IMR) at Intel’s Ocotillo Campus in Chandler, AZ will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

Design and development of innovative custom mechanical and electromechanical parts and assemblies to deliver significant cost savings and drive innovative ergo, safety, quality, defect reduction, part life extension, and performance improvement solutions to Intel’s factory network.
Divide time between research, design, prototyping, and hands-on work supporting fabrication and assembly within IMR’s internal Machine Shop.
Owns project life cycle from development through implementation, including training of personnel, documentation, as well as ongoing sustaining and continuous improvement.
Balance multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely completion.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Qualifications listed as preferred or additional will be considered a plus factor for applicants.

Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/or work experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in designing mechanical components and systems.
3+ years of experience with SolidWorks.
3+ years of experience with project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
5+ years of experience with mechanical and electro-mechanical devices.
5+ years of experience with troubleshooting and structured problem solving.
3+ years of direct experience with high-volume manufacturing.
Experience with CMM or/and optical part scanning tools.
Knowledge of PDM tools such as Windchill.
Experience with GD&T
