Cooper Tire & Rubber Co is seeking ambitious Mechanical Engineering students to be a part of our Co-Op program with our Technical Engineering Center in Findlay, Ohio. Cooper Tire offers an entirely unique work experience because no matter what your title is, you’ll play a part in contributing to the development, manufacturing and marketing of some of the most innovative tire products in the world.
This Co-Op position requires the successful candidate to live in the general Findlay, Ohio area from June to August 2022 and work hours are Monday thru Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. In addition to the competitive hourly rate – the successful candidate will be provided a stipend to supplement the cost of housing for the term.
Job Specific Duties may Include:
Would be assigned a mentor who would work closely with you and guide you in applying the skills and theories learned in the classroom to real projects that Cooper Tire is currently working on such as the following:
Designing enhancements to existing tire lines or development of new tire lines
Work with the manufacturing facilities on the production of project tires
Test development of test tires
Test development for new material or supplier materials
Process improvements enhancing new or current tire lines
Development and testing of experimental materials that could potentially benefit Cooper in coming years
Basic Qualifications:
Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least the Freshman year completed
GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale) or better
Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in written form
Must have good problem solving skills both from a troubleshooting and project planning standpoint
Must be able to use AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software
